At Sargento, we believe in giving back. In the spirit of the season, volunteers from Sargento joined a televised drive-thru food drive At Miller Park for the Hunger Task Force food pantry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In Milwaukee alone, 47 percent of inner-city children live in poverty, which means little access to wholesome food and good sources of protein like natural cheese (according to Hunger Facts Report, September 2017, Hunger Task Force).
As the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers, Sargento invited Super Bowl champion and creator of the Lambeau Leap LeRoy Butler and 1982 World Series second baseman Jim Gantner to help us collect donations.
During the food drive, Sargento donated nearly 1,000 pounds of natural cheese to the Hunger Task Force just in time for the holidays. Our donation will be part of Christmas baskets for those who rely on the food pantry for their only meals.
